Most sources estimate that at least 20% of the world's population will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. Hundreds of millions are currently experiencing the effects, placing mental disorders among the leading causes of ill-health and disability worldwide. Chances are, you know someone affected by this affliction.
While we're powerless to stop it, we can make a difference if we try. And indeed we must try! With so many impacted, we owe it to each other to strive towards solutions that decrease the volume and severity of mental illness around the world.
Many experts promote the use of routine to maintain an active mind. Habitual activities help us cope with change, create healthy habits and, most importantly, reduce stress levels — whether you're prone to this type of illness or rarely need support for your mental well-being. When your life is organized and set into a routine, you know what to expect every day. You have markers that give meaning to time. And you take the stress out of guessing what's next and making constant decisions, which can alleviate the symptoms of anxiety.
At Teamusing, we believe that the ritual of tea is an important part of sustainable mental health. We're on a mission to help others connect over tea to learn, inspire, and grow together. And we want to help support those who support those with mental health disorders. Whether they answer phones for at-risk-youth or greet outpatients at hospitals that serve the mentally-challenged. As we grow, we will always reserve a portion of proceeds to improve the positive awareness of and support for those with maladies of the mind.
We hope you will join us on our journey!
